Initiatives for Customer Health Responsibility

The safety and health of our customers is our top priority. In line with our P.E.O.P.L.E values, we always put our customers and employees at the heart of every business decision making. Below are initiatives we take to ensure the safety and health of our customers:

Store Safety

All our stores meet safety standards. We provide fire extinguishers and sprinklers at each of our stores. In addition, during this pandemic, we also ensure that all the stores strictly adhere to health protocols. Employees to always use masks, utilize partition boards and signs to keep their distance and hand sanitizers will always be available. We also regularly clean the stores and items for sale.

Product Safety

In accordance with the regulations of the Indonesian Ministry of Industry, all of our toy products have been tested and obtained the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) certificate. All cosmetics products have also been certified by the BPOM. For products that do not obliged to SNI, our products come from principals who have high product quality standards. For example, Inditex has a “Clean to Wear” policy which regulates chemical substances that may be in its products, as well as a “Safe to Wear” which regulates the features that are allowed in its products to prevent choking, puncture, and other hazards when worn by consumers. We also provide clear information on the packaging label. The use of the product, the ingredients used in the product, the size of the product, choking hazard, and various other information are included on the product packaging.

Food Safety

We have and operate strict food handling, hygiene and sanitation standards to ensure the safety of food products. Some of our food products such as Cold Stone, Krispy Kreme, and Domino Pizza are prepared in the central kitchen. Our central kitchen has the ISO 22000 standard – a food safety management system. We also provide clear Halal information for our food products.

In total, the amount of funds MAP spent on Social and Environment Responsibilities in 2020 amounted to Rp1.4 billion.
