MAP Announces 28% And 26% Surge In Net Revenue For Full Year 2013 And Q1 2014 Respectively

Jakarta, 21st May 2014 – In spite of uncertainties and challenges, net revenue of PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAP) soared 28% to a record Rp 9.73 trillion for full year 2013 – up from the Rp 7.59 trillion recorded in 2012. Operating profit was Rp 751 billion while net profit was Rp 328 billion – a dip of 24% compared to full year 2012.

For the first quarter of 2014, net revenue of MAP jumped 26% to a record Rp 2.67 trillion – up from the Rp 2.11 trillion achieved in the first quarter of 2013. Gross profit grew 20% from Rp 1.03 trillion to Rp 1.24 trillion. Operating profit was Rp 122 billion while net profit was Rp 46 billion

As part of its prudent expansion strategy, MAP has added an additional 49 stores in the first four months of 2014 – bringing its retail network to a grand total of 1,828 stores as of April 2014

“In view of the challenging business environment, 2014 will be a year of consolidation for MAP. We have set aside a capex of Rp 600 billion with plans to open 250 new stores (projected) – compared to our usual capex of 800 billion to 900 billion over the past few years. This will add another 60,000 sqm to our retail network, bringing our total retail footage to 710,479 sqm by end 2014,” said Fetty Kwartati, Corporate Secretary of MAP.

“Our solid net revenue growth is strong testament to the resilience of our customers and strength of our unique brand portfolio. However, the 2014 global and domestic outlook remains modest with persisting uncertainties. We will continue to watch our costs to further improve store productivity, and position MAP for future growth opportunities.” Fetty added.

A multi-award winning company, MAP was recently listed in Finance Asia’s 2014 ranking of the “Best in Investor Relations” and “Best in CSR” (ranked 5th and 7th for Indonesia respectively). This poll was conducted by FinanceAsia to determine the best in Asia as voted by investors and analysts in the region.
