MAP ANNOUNCES 78% SURGE IN NET PROFIT FOR FIRST HALF 2016
Jakarta, 1st August 2016 – PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAP), the leading lifestyle retailer in Indonesia today announced its financial result for first half 2016. Net revenue rose 9% to a record Rp 6,7 trillion up from the Rp 6,1 trillion achieved during the corresponding period in 2015. Operating profit jumped 82% from Rp 190 billion to Rp 345 billion while net profit surged 78% to Rp 46 billion – up from the Rp 26 billion posted in the first half of 2015.
Commenting on the results, Fetty Kwartati, Corporate Secretary of MAP said, “After two years of hard work, we are starting to see the improvement. We have invested heavily to fix our foundation including for E-commerce (Mapemall.com) and this is now reflected in better productivity, efficiency and margins. Our first half result was also fueled by strong spending during the Ramadhan month – a solid testament to the resilience of our brands and customers.
Going forward, we will continue to watch our costs and expand prudently. With a new investor (General Atlantic) onboard, we also hope to accelerate the growth of our F&B business. General Atlantic is one of the world’s leading equity firms and their deep sector experience in F&B will be a tremendous asset in our vision to become a leading F&B player in Indonesia”.
